Google Data Backup

1. Go to Google and search for "Google takeout" and select the first link or click on this link: Google Takeout

2. By default, google with have all of its services selected, like calendars, bookmarks, etc. Click "deselect all".

3. Click on all of the services you want to back up, for example, your Google Drive, calendar, or anything you wish to back up.

4. scroll to the bottom of the page and click Next Step.

5. Click Create Export. It may take a few minutes for Google to process your export. Once it's completed, you will receive an email stating your export is ready to be downloaded.

6, Go to your Gmail and open up the email for your takeout, and click download. You may be asked to enter your Gmail password and after that, the download will begin automatically but if not then click on download.

7. Open up the downloaded Google Takeout folder. It will be in zip file format, right click on it and select "extract all" click on Browse, and select your desktop as the destination.  Inside you will see all of the data you selected to be exported.

8. From the taskbar on your computer, open up File Explorer ( yellow folder at the bottom of your screen)  Once it's opened, on the sidebar to the left, you will see OneDrive, click on it and sign in with your harmony email.

9. From your Google Takeout (should be the folder you extracted to your desktop from step 7) look for your Google Drive which will be labeled "Drive" right click on it and select copy then go back to your OneDrive from File Explorer, once you're there right click and select paste. Your drive should begin to be uploaded to Ondrive. You will have access to this on any device you log into using your email.

Steps to Import your Google Calendar to Outlook
Note you will need to have outlook installed to do this option.

 To install Outlook go to: https://www.office.com/

Do this step for each Google Calendar you want to import to Outlook.

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Choose File > Open & Export > Import/Export.

  3. In the Import and Export Wizard, choose Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file, and then choose Next.

    Choose Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file.

  4. Browse to where you stored the extracted file, and choose the one that ends with gmail.com, and choose OK.

    Choose the file ending with gmail.com to import.

  5. Choose Import.

    Choose Import when asked to open it as a new calendar or for import.

  6. Go to your Outlook calendar. You should now see your Google Calendar events there
